Road bike tour to Neuschwanstein Castle

Start at the tourist information centre in Tannheim heading east. At the Grän/Haldensee junction, turn left onto the L261 and through the Engetal valley to the former customs office Fallmühle down to Pfronten as far as the main road. Turn left and in the centre of the village, after a 90 degree left-hand bend, turn right towards Füssen. In Pfronten-Meilingen, turn right towards Falkenstein. This is followed by an ascent to the Falkenstein ruins. At the top, the highest point of the road bike tour, return the same way and turn right at the crossroads. Turn right at the roundabout and follow the road to Weißensee. At the end of the lake, turn right to Alatsee. Follow the lakeshore through the Faulenbach valley to Bad Faulenbach and continue towards Füssen in the direction of the historic old town centre. In the centre of Füssen, continue in the direction of Munich/Augsburg. In Alterschrofen turn left towards Schwangau, past the Thurn und Taxis family estate. At the crossroads, turn left towards Schwangau. In the centre of Schwangau, turn right towards Augsburg. At the end of the village, turn right towards Hohenschwangau. In Hohenschwangau keep right towards Pinswang and over the Alpsee to Pinswang. ATTENTION: approx. 1.5 km natural road! In Pinswang, keep right until you reach the Lech bridge and then turn left towards Vils and continue towards Pfronten. In Pfronten Steinach turn left after the church towards Tannheimer Tal through the Engetal on the L261 to Grän. At the junction Grän/Haldensee turn right towards Tannheim to the starting point.
